Blue-NG
Blue-NG is a renewable power company, formed as a joint venture between 2OC Ltd and National Grid plc, the UK's largest energy transporter.
What is renewable power?
Renewable power is power (or energy) which will not run out.
This includes: wind power, solar power, hydro power and fuel from liquid biomass such as wood, or vegetable oil.
N.B. Providing the liquid biomass is continually replaced as part of a sustainable crop production cycle.
Why is renewable power important?
- Environmental benefits – Renewable energy is clean, it has a much lower environmental impact than conventional energy production. It produces less, or no carbon dioxide; contributing far less to climate change.
- Energy security – By definition, renewable energy doesn’t run out, through developing renewable power we are contributing to a secure and clean energy future.
- Economic benefits – Local and national economies are likely to benefit more from renewable power, as creation of low carbon economy will stimulate growth.
The Blue-NG team currently consists of a small number of dedicated engineering, commercial and admin staff who are seconded from either 2oc or National Grid. This has provided a world-class mixture of dynamic innovation and large company resources – and an enjoyable and winning culture.
