Blue-NG Beckton site
The Beckton site is situated less than 1 kilometre north of the river Thames in the East London Borough of Newham. In the 19th century, Simon Adams Beck built the world’s largest gasworks on this site, so it is fitting that Beckton, which is named after him, will pioneer a 21st century solution to our sustainable energy needs.

The current site is largely taken up by National Grid’s gas holders and pressure reduction station as well as some 90 acres of undeveloped brownfield land.
