Efficient use of crops as a fuel
![]() For every 100 tonnes of crop, oilseed rape, our farmers grow, only 13 tonnes is used to provide our fuel. The rest goes back into the food chain. 70 tonnes is ploughed back into the soil to replenish it for next year’s cereal crop and 16 tonnes is turned into animal feed only 1% of the Energy Centre is waste. |
Energy Centres efficiency
![]() Our Energy Centre will power around 85,000 homes. Over a year, it will produce 300,000MWh of electricity, saving up to 90,000 tonnes of CO2 per annum compared with the current grid mix of fuels. Its electrical efficiency ranges between 65 and 80%, making it one of the most efficient electrical generators in the world. |
Environmental standards
![]() Blue-NG ensure that environmental standards for crop production are independently audited by recognized bodies such as Linking the Environment and Farming (LEAF) and Assured Combinable Crops Scheme (ACCS). |
